Please note that many access accommodations need to be arranged in advance. We will address all requests received BEFORE September 15, 2002. If we receive requests after September 15th, we.ll do our best to fulfill them, but we cannot guarantee fulfillment of requests after the above deadline.
CONFERENCE ACCESS
The SF GLBT Center is wheelchair accessible with elevators and a ramp on the second floor. It is a scent-free environment. If you have any particular physical or mental health needs that we have not addressed here, please don't hesitate to request them and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Email us at forword_girls.
CHILD CARE
The SF GLBT Center provides free Child Watch. The hours on Saturday are:
10 am-12:30 pm
1-6 pm
ALCOHOL & DRUGS
The ForWord Girls event will not serve any alcoholic beverages, and requests that participants respect that by not bringing any drugs or alcohol into the SF GLBT Center. Smoking is allowed only in areas designated by the SF GLBT Center.
SCENT POLICY
The SF GLBT Center is scent-free and there is a strong No Scent policy for the conference. We cannot guarantee that all participants understand or will follow this policy.
ASL
We will provide interpreters for day and evening events with one-month notice. Also, we can reserve seats with good sightlines for the interpreters. Please indicate your interpreting needs to conference organizers by emailing forword_girls.
WHEELCHAIR +
Wheelchair access: All conference events will be held in spaces that provide wheelchair access and proximity to accessible restrooms. There will be chairs available at all events, though some events may have less seating than others. Please email us and let us know if you'd like to reserve a chair at an event, forword_girls.
TRANSPORTATION
The SF GLBT Center is located at 1800 Market St. @ Octavia and is easily accessible by MUNI (It is a ten-minute walk from BART, although can take MUNI from BART). There is limited street parking available. SF GLBT Center is Monday - Thursday 8:30am-10pm, Friday 9:30am-10pm, Saturday 9am-10pm, and Sunday 10am-6pm and there is a security guard on duty during these hours.

FOOD
We will not be able to provide food during the conference beyond bagels and bagel fixings in the morning and light snacks later on during the day.
HOUSING
While we probably cannot accommodate every out-of-town participant, we will do our best to find comfortable, convenient housing for everyone who requests it or can recommend hostels or hotels, depending on your budget. Please make sure to make any hotel accomodations well in advance, as places tend to fill up. When you email, please list how many nights you'll need, any food or other allergies, and any accessibility needs we should consider. Email forword_girls.

All ForWord Girls events are sliding scale and we are committed to our No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds policy. If you'd like to volunteer or do work exchange, we can definitely use your help. Email forword_girls.
